The Ice type is one of the 18 Pokémon elemental types. It is mostly recognized as the bane of Dragon-type Pokémon as Dragon-type Pokémon are very vulnerable to Ice-type moves, and most final form Dragon-type Pokémon take quadruple damage from Ice-type attacks, as they are commonly part Flying-type. However, most Ice-type Pokémon tend to be very fragile, further induced by the plethora of weaknesses by types which excel at offense, namely Fire, Rock and Fighting.

  • Pure Ice-type Pokémon only resist Ice-type moves.
  • Ice is the only type that is super effective against Flying-type and Grass-type Pokémon that does not, in turn, resist moves from these two types.
  • Ice-type attacks are not very effective against all types of Pokémon that Water-type Pokémon resist.
  • Out of all types, the Ice type has the least amount of Pokémon, with only 33 in total, excluding Mega Evolutions and alternate formes.
